Brazilian producer Jays Negri brings serious heat to the dancefloor with his latest EP, Jimi Trip – an epic blend of deep grooves, funky guitar licks, thick basslines, and tight percussion. Effortlessly bridging musicianship and electronic precision, this two-track release captures the essence of movement, nostalgia, and self-expression.
“P&G”
Born from a long-held vocal idea, P&G blends warmth and spontaneity into pure groove. Jays enlisted his sister to record the sultry vocal hook using nothing but a tape recorder inside her closet – a raw, human touch that anchors the track’s polished, rolling energy. The result? A standout club weapon already championed by Mary Jane (Marquee Nightclub NYC), Club de Combat, Malu Fittipaldi, Etta, Gabbs, Oldnews, and Slake.
“Jimi Trip”
Named in tribute to Jimi Hendrix, this track channels Jays’ early love for classic rock and blues guitar. Built from a 10-minute live jam session of electric guitar improvisation, Jimi Trip merges psychedelic emotion with a modern, groove-driven core. The chopped solos and swirling vocals create a deep, immersive trip that’s earned support from Malive and Unfazed at D-Edge São Paulo – a defining moment in Jays’ creative journey.
With growing recognition in the melodic and progressive scene, Jays Negri continues to carve a path defined by authenticity and rhythm. His releases have topped the Beatport Progressive House charts, reached the iTunes UK Dance charts, and gained support from global tastemakers like Malive, Unfazed, and Mary Jane. On stage, he’s performed at leading Brazilian festivals including Café on Tour, Na Praia Festival, and Bud Basement, bringing his vibrant, emotional sound to life with every set.
Jimi Trip is more than an EP – it’s Jays Negri’s musical identity distilled: soulful, raw, and made to move.
