Some songs are written from inspiration, others from necessity. Ali is deeply personal to Mark Eteson, created in memory of a close friend whose life was unexpectedly cut short. Rather than letting the memories fade, Mark turned them into music, preserving a piece of her presence through sound.

Ali’s family have embraced the song, with an early version played at her wake and their blessing given for her voice to be included in the release.
