Sirup Once Upon a Time: Bromance

Before “Levels,” there was “Bromance.”

In April 2010, PinkStar Records released “Bromance” under the Tim Berg alias, the instrumental that would become the foundation of Avicii’s first international breakthrough. Months later it evolved into “Seek Bromance”, pairing the original production with Amanda Wilson’s vocals, sampled from Samuele Sartini’s earlier track “Love U Seek”. The result introduced the melodic, emotional progressive house sound that defined the beginning of his career.

The record quickly became a global phenomenon. It reached the UK top 15 and No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart, and was certified gold and platinum in several countries. It set the stage for everything that followed.

By Tomorrowland 2011, thousands were already singing the melody back to a record that had started on PinkStar Records, the moment that helped change the course of electronic music.

Hear it again: Seek Bromance (Sirup Music).
