Artist of the Week: Maite Dedecker

New track ‘Make You Move‘ – Out on May 30th via S2 Records.

Maite Dedecker is a 19-year-old female Techno DJ from Bree, Belgium, who has immersed herself in the deep sounds of the electronic music scene. She has been passionate about music since her youth, and has only recently found an outlet for this passion through her DJing.

Before taking to the turntables, Maite was active in the Royal Ballet School Antwerp/Brussels International Ballet School. However, injury necessitated a career shift, leading her to discover fulfillment in music’s ability to evoke emotions and unite people. She’s already played in some big clubs and at festivals like Versuz in Belgium, Limitzz in the Netherlands, Zuera Sound in Spain, and even the famous Tomorrowland. She plans to travel the world and establish her record label within the next few years. She aspires to provide a platform for emerging artists. She wants to support them in an industry that can sometimes be challenging for new talent to break into.

Her father, once an active DJ himself, influenced Maite’s musical journey, which is steeped in the world of peak-time techno and groovy beats. Her energetic and powerful sets feature a unique blend of psytrance and retro influences. She gives her love of techno a unique twist by subtly weaving Eastern vocals into her sets.
